Sound familiar?

How injury rehab and return to sport usually shows up.

If a few of these ring true, you are in the right place. None of them mean something is badly wrong, and all of them respond to the right plan.
  • You have done the same hamstring or calf twice in a season
  • Rolled your ankle months ago and it still does not feel stable
  • Shin or foot pain that builds through a run
  • Back from injury and not trusting the leg at full speed
  • Gym injury from a program that ramped up too fast
  • A club physio has cleared you but you know the strength is not back

Why it happens

What is usually going on.

Most sporting injuries are load management problems. Tissue was asked to do more than it was prepared for, either in one moment or over a few weeks. Once it has healed, the risk of doing it again stays high until the strength, capacity and confidence are rebuilt past where they were before. That is the part that gets skipped.
We measure. Single leg force, jump and hop symmetry, calf and hamstring strength, change of direction. Targets are set against your other side and your sport, and you progress when you hit them. It removes the guesswork for you and your coach.

What we do

Assess, plan, retest. Numbers, not guesswork.

Every plan at Integral Movement starts with measurement on our force plates and strength testing, ends with a written program, and is retested at six weeks. One clinician, start to finish.

01

Assess

The injury history, current strength and symmetry on the force plate, running or sport specific demands and your training load leading in.

02

Rebuild

Progressive strength and plyometric work, graded running and skill exposure, with load planned week to week around training and games.

03

Return

Return to training and then play against objective criteria. A plan to keep the strength work in the season so it does not happen again.

What the research says

Evidence, in plain English.

We read the research so you do not have to. These are the findings that shape how we treat injury rehab and return to sport. Ask us for the papers at your visit.

01

Structured strength and load management programs reduce hamstring re-injury rates in football codes, and Nordic hamstring programs cut first time injuries by around half.

02

Objective return to sport testing, including strength and hop symmetry, is associated with fewer re-injuries across lower limb injuries.

03

Progressive calf and ankle strength and balance training reduce recurrent ankle sprains.

Who you will see

Accredited Exercise Physiologists, not a rotating roster.

You see the same clinician start to finish. Brad Buisson and Dennis Belios lead the musculoskeletal and chronic condition work, with our dietitian and occupational therapist in the same clinic when the plan needs them. Meet the team →
